i think the red/gold gives off a royal look. i quite like most of the designs, but definitely, if it's for a wedding.. a sleeveless cheong sam would look nice. and the red flower in the hair is gorgeous! adds such a modern twist to the outfit.

Yeah everybody's body sizes are so different. The chest opening can be so drastically different on each individual. You're not getting it tailored?

first of all, congrats! i was seeing some wedding-related updates on fbook, but didn't really stop to check any of them out - too many updates to catch up on.

have you checked the store on main st in chinatown? it's a few stores in (south) from hastings. i've never been inside, but know that people have shopped for wedding qipao there. they have an awesome collection and tailor for free.

I think the first one depends on how much props OUT of the chest opening.

Remember it's yours and Stephen's wedding and no one else's =) Wear something because it's what you like best, not because of what others tell you you should wear.

I like those buttons too. It would be nice if they can be incorporated with the green dress but I don't think they match.

grapefruit: I think in my lifetime I'll wear a red qipao only once for the significance of the occasion. maybe I'll wear a green one to yours. Quite challenging to find a well fitted one.

Though red is typically the color for weddings, doesn't mean you have to stick with that. I've been to weddings where they wore a completely white qipao. And I think the green color is actually a pretty good choice, though the design is a bit out there for a wedding. The only thing is that I think the material should be the satin-y one because that makes it more formal while some of the other flowery ones are pretty, but could blend in as one of the guests.
