Hello Skinnies

I think this is the best season to wear skinny jeans. Overall, I can't think of a better way to get around this rainy and cold weather. Of course there's always tights and knee high boots and leg warmers, but I kind of like skinny jeans because jeans are my favorite kind of pants to wear. I like tights but I usually wear those with skirts because I prefer wearing something over the tights that actually cover my butt. Certain tops do the job too if they are long enough but why risk getting my butt frozen.. for fashion maybe : P

I really like this pair of Forever 21 Houndstooth Skinny Jeans. But since I'm not sure what size I am and they ran out of the smaller sizes, I decided not to buy it. It's only $9.99 right now. Anyone seen something similar?

Cute Rainboots That Do The Job

As some of you might know, Vancouver city is very well known for rain. But even knowing that myself and having gone through years of dodging puddles and soaking socks, never did I look into investing on a pair of rain boots. Feeling a little foolish here - _-

Well I did try. But I gave up eventually because I always ended up hating the styles I saw. Rain boots were stereotyped as shiny-reflective-bulky-rubber with a very bad smell. Some have ridiculous patterns on them that are way too crazy for me. I prefer to have a modest looking pair of rain boots.

I started looking again this year and even though I saw some really nice waterproof/rain boots from GEOX and Townshoes, I really didn't want to invest so much that I'd end up emptying my wallet. They were very dressy styles though - almost leather looking and could match any wool coat or skinny jeans.

Last week I decided to pop into Army&Navy and to my surprise I found these but in black:
Rampage from Army&Navy - $30

IMO they were the perfect pair of rain boots! That's cause they're black, well fitted and most of all they don't cost me a fortune. They even have little buckles making it look even slightly dressy and they're matte - not shiny. For $30 I was very satisfied knowing that I could keep my socks dry and splash in puddles when running late to work : P

My classmates told me that they looked like Hunter boots. Hunter boots are a more expensive brand of boots that resembled the ones I bought which were branded Rampage. But they're almost identical.

Hunters at Townshoes $100+

Regardless of brand/price, I still kind of like the Rampage ones more because they're matte. But yes I have rain boots now so that makes rainy days a little less discouraging. : ) Get yours at Army&Navy if you're on a budget for rain boots - they have lots of styles.

La Senza Sale

Bras are buy one get one
Panties 5/$25

Last year I made a pretty huge purchase on bras at this sale considering finding the right fit and size has always been either a hit or miss for me. So I took advantage and totally bought whatever I could find that fit. Trust me - even when the size number and letters match your measurements, the bra still may not fit. I've had such a bad experience bra shopping. I am bitter. Jacob's bras disappointed me but maybe I should try again since they're sizing is different (now that I've got that figured out but still too lazy to figure out new sizing). If you need new bras go buy them now! Last year I got the deal in store but right now I can see that online it's free shipping for orders over $89.

IMO microfiber is the most comfortable material but the straps get loose faster after washes - even with a laundry bag. No I don't hand wash..

Lace ones are more rough but they have better support and the straps don't really get loose.

Demi cups have the best support.

There's a specific La Senza bra that has great support but because of the way it's made, it eventually becomes uncomfortable wearing it during the day. I can't find it on the website but it is a demi cup and joined together in the middle is hard fabric and depending on which season, they have the LS logo on it. This section of hard fabric that connects the cups basically makes an imprint in the middle of your chest and not only that, you literally feel sore after a while.

Two Wedding Dresses

So, after shopping around, I realized I want two wedding dresses for my wedding. I know I sound greedy but I really want to invest on two dresses since there are two particular styles I like. First is the lacy style that is more slim fitting, second is the poofier style with folds and pleats - something dramatic. One to be worn for the church and one for pre-wedding photos.

This is if all goes according to plan. Other than that, all I need is a qipao for the evening. My other plan is to alter my prom dress and wear that for the evening as well. It's kinda memorable since it's my grad dress and it is quite a lovely purple gown.

Wool Coats

The coats above caught my attention. What unique styles.

Fall is here and the leaves are finally turning orange and yellow! The weather's been kind of chilly and I've been looking for a wool coat. I already have one - a long one for formal outings but would like to get a shorter wool pea coat for convenience purposes. Going to and from school/work I would like something less lengthy and definitely not heavy. Casual enough for jeans but slightly dressy. Could be black or grey or maybe even plaid depending on how it looks overall. Could be double breasted, stand-collar, no loose tying belt, must be warm and made with wool. Price range not above the 80's. Removable hood's a bonus. I notice there are short pea coats that don't quite cover the butt so preferably something that does!

Any recommendations?
