One Day Yard Sale & OPI

So I decided to dig around my room and my house for things and I don't want and have a yard sale! It's a sunny day and the extra money can go towards my textbooks. (For more details look at the right side bar). Other than shoes I'm also selling a bunch of clothes I haven't worn in the last year or so. I'm also going to be selling brand new pashminas too. Plus, by selling old junk I can use that money towards new stuff. That should be a money saving shopping tip in itself along with the rest.

I finally tried OPI nail polish. Since it was on sale for $8 (normally they're about $10 here) and I really liked the orangey coral color, I decided to splurge $8. It actually applies on quite smoothly. I'm thinking it's cause of the formula and the brush. The brush actually fans out just enough and at the same time it glides on just enough enamel. Don't have to dip my brush in the bottle as often. Maybe it's just me, but I do find it's a decent nail polish but probably won't spend $10 on it. They do come in some very fresh colors. For a cheaper budget, I think L'Oreal makes pretty good nail polish for $4-$6 a bottle. Coral colored nails and coral colored lipstick - though probably not as visible in the photo but I love coral! Especially for fall.

We Have a Winner!

Back a couple of months ago I posted this to bring your attention to one of Stycki's newest products - the altered clipboard. Stycki is currently more of a hobby than a business but we are in the process of giving away random things we create. So whoever responded to that post, we picked numbers and the winner is...........*drum roll* Elena! Congratulations!

update - it looks pink but it's not, it's purple.

Still here! Yapping About Threadless Tees

I thought I was going to close down this blog temporarily for the period of time I'll be in school. But I decided not to cause the moment I looked back I realized how much of a hobby this is. Doesn't even matter if no one visits - it's just a place I want to be, kinda like home. However, may not be updating as frequently though.

Let's talk about Threadless tees. Threadless has awesome t shirts designed by various designers. I decided to buy my first Threadless tee since they had a sale and some of my coworkers decided to do a bulk order - so I thought why not?

First warning I got from the website regarding this shirt was that due to the type of ink printing used on this shirt, some areas of the shirt such as the seams portion may not absorb the ink too well. Well that's fine if it doesn't come out clean. So I bought the shirt anyway. Turned out I shouldn't have risked it. The printing was worse than I thought. It's not lack of ink or a misprint. More like they printed on the shirt when the bottom edge was folded.. You can literally see the creases that appeared on the shirt.

Right there.

Well, the first thought that came to mind was an exchange or a refund. They don't expect me to pay for the shipping for the return or exchange but they don't pay you back for the shipping you spent the first time upon receiving the messed up shirt. So, I decided to keep it since going through that hassle means losing out on a shirt and then having paid them $5 shipping for nothing. The shirt itself was $10. Kinda cute but the ink feels rough (white part) and might even come off after a few washes.

It's so darn cute. When worn the face isn't as visible but what the hey, I'm a sucker for cute stuff.

The Useful Pashmina

Why I wore a pashmina to my friends' wedding:

• during times when it was cool outside I used it to cover my bare shoulders
• it added a nice touch to my outfit which also had some black in it
• it helped conceal my excessive cleavage
• it was worn tied behind my waist during the day and as an evening stole for the night
• my outfit looked more fancy than it really was with it draped over me
• it was summer so when it got too hot and I had to carry it around, it was light weight and convenient. Sometimes I would tie it around my purse. (I'm glad I didn't bring a jacket)

If you're interested in a pashmina, I can hook you up with one for $10. : )

Back to School - Plaid

I am half excited and half dreading what awaits me when school hits me on September the 8th. So I've decided to post up a photo relevant (somewhat) to back to school. Back to school makes me think of plaid - I think it's cause it's also the trend this year.. been seeing plaid EVERYWHERE. So I decided to keep an eye out for plaid stuff and here's me wearing my plaid shirt dress I got for $5 from Army&Navy. What a steal of a deal eh? A student's gotta do what a student's gotta do! And... photography here by Stephen C.

Talk About Drama(tic)

Hey I haven't blogged for a while. I know, it sounds so bad to say that. Nothing much has been going on lately other than me seeing a naturopath to set my body straight. Who likes dealing with fatigue all the time? Anyone else sick of being sick and tired?

Although there's not much going on on my end there's much going on around me. Can you say dra-ma? I decided to post some dramatic eye make up here. It's nothing much but just something I did for fun for a little makeup challenge. (Feel free to click and join the fun. There's a lot of awesome make up tips on this site AND really cool creative make up beginners and make up gurus submitting their looks).

You're supposed to pick an element: earth/water/air/fire or use all four to create a 'look.'

Is it obvious what mine is? Maybe? Yes? Haha I only did one eye cause I definitely don't have a lot of make up to work with. I think I need one of those 100 color eye shadow palettes. I really thought I'd never end up wanting something like that. Ah.. the art of make up. There is design in make up!
